What’s the theory of infinite mirror? How to make an infinite mirror?

1、 Structure of infinite mirror

For an instance, use following materials to make an infinite mirror(as photo): a two way mirror(95% reflectivity) at 10% transparency, lamp belt and a single sided mirror.

1. The lamp belt emits a beam of light (100% light) into the single sided mirror.

2. The singled sided mirror reflects 95% of light into two way mirror(10% transparency): [1st reflectivity]

3. 9.5% of light through two way mirror, meanwhile 85.5% of light into the single sided mirror: [2nd reflectivity]

4. The single sided mirror reflect 81.22% of light into two way mirror: [3rd reflectivity]

5. 8.12% of light through two way mirror to our eye, meanwhile reflect 73.1% of light into single sided mirror.

We can see the the effect of the infinite mirror through the two way mirror, it’s not until the light through the two-way mirror is dimmer than the brightness of the room that the layer of light is stop increased.

In conclusion, if the light of lamp belt is brighter than the room and use low light transmittance, the effect of infinite mirror is better.

On the other hand, the effect of infinite mirror will be unsatisfied.

To deal with this problem, we can increase the voltage of lamp belt or the light transmittance. However, most people will choose the high light transmittance of two way mirror. Because the voltage of the lamp belt is limited.
