What is Acrylic Mirror?

Acrylic Mirror, a kind of plexiglass, made of PMMA. After electroplate a layer of metal, it’ll become a mirror. Its’ image is as clear as Glass Mirror and only 1/2 weight of Glass Mirror. Acrylic Mirror is famous for its shatterproof, eco-friendly, easy shaping and wide range in color. It has a wide range of usage, including decoration, advertising, transportation, medicine, industry, etc.

Acrylic Mirror can be divided into single mirror, two way mirror and double side mirror. Besides, we warmly welcome customize, such as thickness, size, color, transmittance and so on.

How to judge the quality of Acrylic Mirror?

First of all, image. High-end acrylic mirror that made of virgin raw material is clearer than normal acrylic mirror. Acrylic sheet is the key to the image of acrylic mirror. If there are impurities in the acrylic sheet during processing, it will be obvious in the mirror.

Second, electroplate, adhesive of back coating and weather resistance.

Usually, we use our finger to scratch, then check if the coating peel off or light leakage. Professionally, electroplate, adhesive of back coating and weather resistance are depend on the production equipment.

Acrylic Mirror application tips:

1. Our acrylic mirror’s impact strength is around 17 times greater than that of glass in equal sheet thickness and shatterproof. However, acrylic mirror is not as hard as glass, it’s easy scratch. Harden acrylic mirror can only reach 4 harden class. So when cleaning, we need to use soft fabric to wipe it gently.

2. Acrylic mirror sheet does not have the rigidity of glass and is not sold as a direct replacement for applications where glass mirror may be more suitable. During normal use, some visual distortion may occur - such distortion may be exaggerated when using large pieces. A thicker piece of acrylic mirror will be less flexible and therefore maintain better optical properties. Correct installation and sufficient material thickness can reduce visual distortion but it will not be completely eliminated. Visual distortion is not a manufacturing fault but an inherent characteristic of the material. 3.Please also note that acrylic mirror, as with other mirrored products, can intensify and concentrate the sun’s rays and, like a magnifying lens, generate focused heat spots. Care should be taken when positioning, particularly when using acrylic mirror near combustible materials. Moreover, please do not place it in direct sunlight. In addition, acrylic is a kind of plastic, it’ll got aging under UV, so we are not suggest for outdoor using.
